Schumann Resonance and 160 minute cycle

Post by RayTomes »

The Schumann Resonance is the Earth's Atmosphere's electromagnetic natural resonance period and is typically around 7.7Hz.
It is recognized that it does vary by time of day, time of year and with the solar cycle.

It also has a weekly cycle and has a 160 minute cycle. The 160 minute cycle is a solar cycle although some astronomers don't believe this.

Amplitude of the Schumann Resonance over a month, showing clear daily cycle and weekly and fortnightly or half monthly cycle.

Schumann Resonance autocorrelaton up to 10.4 days, showing clear daily and weekly cycles.

Schumann Resonance amplitude detrended by 13 periods (of 15 minute data) autocorrelations show a clear 160minute cycle. It loses coherence after about 10cycles which means that the phase or period wanders about by perhaps 10%.

Low frequency magnetic activity autocorrelation up to 10.4 days, showing daily variation and clear alternate day fluctuations which reverse phase after a week.

In relation to the above 160 minute cycle in Schumann resonance here is a 160 minute cycle in Solar X-rays.
